Who you're hiring
I started Companion Painting because of how often I heard the same story. Someone gets three quotes, two never follow up, and the one who shows up talks them into more than they needed. That is not a painting problem. That is a being-looked-after problem.
So the way we work is simple. We come out, we walk your home with you, and we tell you honestly what needs doing and what doesn't. We're here to advise and take care of the customer, not to sell them. Sometimes that means talking you out of a job. That is fine by me.
And no, we're not the cheapest painters in Kelowna. We're not trying to be. We're for homeowners who want it done right and done once, because the most expensive paint job is the one you pay for twice.
How we work
Not a number shouted over the phone. We come out, look at the actual surfaces, and tell you what we see, including the things other estimators skip past.
Scope, timeline and price, laid out so you can read it. The price we say is the price you pay. No creep once the crew is on site.
If a room does not need doing this year, we will say so. It costs us a bit of work now and earns the next three jobs.

Yes. Every estimate is free and there's no pressure. We take a look, talk through what you want, and send you a clear written quote. You decide from there, on your terms.
Yes, fully. Companion Painting is BC licensed (FM1112157) and carries $3M in general liability insurance. Your home and your peace of mind are covered from day one.
It depends on the surface. Different surfaces wear differently, so one number for everything would be a lie.
Your interior and exterior paint work is covered for 5 to 9 years. You'll know your exact term before you sign, based on the product, the surface and the scope.
Your cabinets are covered for 1 year. Your fences and railings, 2 years.
Your deck walking surface is covered for 30 days. Wood you walk on takes foot traffic, water and snow that a fence never sees. No honest painter can promise your deck looks new years later. You deserve that upfront, not buried in fine print.
No. Clean, protected workspaces are non-negotiable for us. We cover and protect your floors and furniture, tidy up as we go, and leave the space better than we found it.
That's not us. Prep is what separates a finish that lasts years from one that peels in months, and we won't put our name on a job we can't stand behind. If you want it done right and done once, that's exactly how we work. If you need a fast patch job, we're probably not the right crew.
You can, but it changes what we can promise. We spec specific products for each surface because that's what makes the finish last, so when we supply the paint it's covered by our craftsmanship warranty. If you supply it, we'll still do great work, we just can't back it the same way.
No. We price the job to do it properly, once, with the right prep and product, and we quote that honestly upfront. If you've got a cheaper number it usually means a different scope, and we're happy to walk you through what the difference actually buys you.
Yes, our minimum is $2,000. It keeps our scheduling and pricing fair for the kind of work we do best. If your project is smaller, we're happy to point you in the right direction, and if it's close, just ask and we'll be straight with you.
