Companion Painting is a residential painting company based in Kelowna, British Columbia, operated by Taylor Norquay. This policy explains what information we collect when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you fill in a form on this website or ask us for an estimate, we collect the details you give us:

Your name
Your phone number
Your email address
Your town or service area
What you need painted and any notes you add

We also collect basic technical information through standard website analytics, such as which pages were viewed and roughly where in the world the visit came from. This is not tied to your name.

How we use it

To contact you about the estimate or work you asked about
To prepare and send you a quote
To schedule and carry out the work
To follow up afterwards, including asking how the job went
To keep records for warranty, tax and insurance purposes

Text messages

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors for support purposes, such as a customer service provider, may be shared. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

If you give us your phone number, we may text you about your estimate, your booking, or your completed job. You can stop these at any time by replying STOP. Full details are in our SMS Terms.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do use a small number of service providers to run the business, and they only see what they need to do their job:

Our customer management and messaging system, which stores your contact details and our conversation history
Our quoting software, used to prepare your estimate
Our accounting software, used for invoicing
Website analytics providers, which see anonymous usage data only

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to answer you and, if you become a customer, for as long as we need them for warranty, tax and insurance purposes. Our workmanship warranty runs up to nine years, so customer job records are generally kept at least that long.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, and stop texts by replying STOP.
