These terms cover your use of this website and the estimate process. Companion Painting is a residential painting company based in Kelowna, British Columbia, operated by Taylor Norquay. The work itself is governed by the written quote and any contract you sign with us, and if anything here disagrees with your signed quote, your signed quote wins.
Estimates are free and carry no obligation. We look at the actual surfaces before we price anything, because the prep is what decides the real cost. Your written quote covers the scope we walked through with you. If the scope changes once we are on site, for example hidden rot or damage nobody could see beforehand, we will talk to you and agree it in writing before we do the extra work.
A quote is valid for the period stated on it. Prices can change after that, mainly because material costs move.
Once you accept a quote we confirm a start date and tell you what to expect beforehand. Exterior work depends on weather. Coatings need the right conditions to cure properly, so we will not rush a coat just to hit a date, and we will keep you posted if the weather moves us.
We need safe access to the areas being painted, and somewhere to park close enough to work from. Please let us know about pets, gate codes, alarms and anything fragile before we arrive.
Payment terms are set out in your quote. The price we quote is the price you pay for the scope in that quote.
Our work is backed by a craftsmanship warranty of up to nine years. The exact length and what it covers depend on the surfaces and the products used on your job, and it is set out in writing in your quote. The warranty covers our workmanship. It does not cover normal wear, damage caused by others, moisture or structural problems in the building, or product failures outside our control, which are covered by the manufacturer.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, tell us as early as you can and we will work with you. If we have already bought job specific materials or started work, we may charge for what has actually been done or supplied.
Companion Painting is BC licensed, number FM1112157, and carries three million dollars in liability insurance. We are happy to provide current documentation on request.
